It?s often been made fun of?the end of the world will happen with hundreds of thousands of us taking picture of it with our mobile phones instead of seeking safety somehow. We may disagree over which phones is preferable, or which mobile operating system is better, but the one thing we all seem to agree on is the camera on our cell phones are our main way of recording life in 2012. In 1970 we took about 10 billion photos every year?no small number by anyone?s count. In 2011 however, that number had skyrocketed to over 380 billion per year with no end in sight for growth in the years ahead. We post 300 million photos to Facebook each and every day with days like Christmas and New Year?s Eve seeing an even more explosive number of photos posted. Facebook in face has over 10,000 times the number of photos on their servers than are contained in the Library of Congress. Check out this infographic from Overgram about this new mobile explosion of photography.
